Wow, I love the composition and the originality of this image. What a beautiful diagonal, accentuated by the artist's tattoo. At first, I felt the photo may have benefited from a tighter crop, so the bicep of the performer would be out of sight, but then I realised that it's that tiny bit of arm that balances out the whole picture so well. I also like the bright, blurred flags, both because they add more diagonals and because it's very unusual to have a vibrant background with a much calmer-toned foreground. And of course, the reflection in the ball gives the work so much more meaning, depth and context.
I also like the sharpness. I live in a world of mostly arty people, rather than photographers, and it irritates me that arty people tend to overlook the importance of a good, sharp image. They have some sort of a hippie attitude towards photographs, "but i know what he was trying to saaaay, maaan."
The one thing that's a pity is that his fingers are slightly overexposed. It looks like there really wasn't much you could do about that, due to sunny weather at that split-second-moment, which would never ever be repeated again in that exact spot.
I was thinking also that maybe if the ball had a couple of slight light flares, it would look really good... you kind of have one going on at about 4 o'clock location on the ball, if that one was bigger, and there was another one on the other side of the ball, where the other white spot is, I think it would look even better.
Really love this shot. Thank you for my 'moment'
